When I think of maple, I think pancakes, and when I think pancakes, I get excited. This sounds like a great opportunity to see one how maple syrup is produced and reduced. Does this festival generally happen every March? I bet it smells awesome.

Both of these lakes sound like they offer great fishing; Douthat’s Wilson Creek is especially attractive due to it’s fishing area for children…and maybe some beginners I imagine. Do you have to get fishing permits in Virginia?

we’ll be staying with you –for the first time–May 28th & 29th. We plan to do some fly fishing and I was wondering if we should plan on only small mouth or will the water still be cool enough to support the stocked trout. We are pretty much catch & release people.
