CRPA Artist Retreat at Fort Lewis

May 5-9, 2024

The Cowpasture River Preservation Association and Fort Lewis invite artists of any medium to join us for The Fourth Annual CRPA Artist Retreat at Fort Lewis. Offering over 3,300 acres of open fields, mountains, forests, wildflowers, and birds, and featuring 3-miles of the scenic Cowpasture River, Fort Lewis is the perfect place to gather with fellow artists and create in a beautiful outdoor setting. Bath County Art Show

Now in its 59th year, the Bath County Art Show allows visitors to view and purchase art work from more than 250 regional artists working in oil, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, photography and sculpture. For more information visit bathcountyarts.org. Free and open to the public.

Watercolor Workshop with Artist Molly Reeder

Join us on the farm for an afternoon of guided watercolor painting with Richmond-based Artist Molly Reeder. Using subjects that we have foraged from the grounds, we will learn how to thoughtfully arrange our subjects and paint what we can observe and sense. This class is for anyone who desires to support their own creative practice with more intentionality and wants to learn to work with watercolor.
Class Cost: $95/participant

Class Time: 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

  • Foraging excursion around the grounds
  • Guided watercolor class with all materials provided
  • Farm fresh lunch
  • Beverages and baked goods to be enoyed during class
